Whether it's your boss, your teacher, your friend or a stranger, asking someone a stupid question can always be embarrassing, especially for your target. Your target can also be irritated and angry if you do that often.

Sometimes you are forced to ask stupid questions because of your incompetence within the subject area. You maybe don't know before you ask that your question actually is stupid. So it will come as a chock.

Your target thinks that you are stupid, incompetent, arrogant and useless. Take it personally, if you like to taste the truth.

One way to save your honor is to make your target look stupid because of his/her knowledge. This experiment can result in different outcomes.

An example: If you ask a dumb question regarding loops in C++ and your target gives you an answer while laughing, then you can answer; well I'm too busy with having sex so I get no time over to learn this shit.

Your target will maybe become upset if he knows that he's good on his hobby just because he can't get a girl easy. This is nasty but you gain back your honor. Anyway, if he can give you a new answer while laughing then this was a good way to switch topic. Your honor will come back since the question will be forgiven.

well I think that it's not dangerous to ask a 'dumb' question, especially for those that live in a civilisized society AKA West.
