Everyone make mistakes and this is one of the most usual ones. It is also one of the most lie-able mistakes on the earth, most people that break others materials don't tell the owners and the owner thinks that it must have been some bad quality of the product or believes that someone else destroyed it. However, sometimes such things are almost impossible to hide. This is a good example:
Imagine that it's your first day at work, you get a new unused laptop that you're going to work on. You take a cup of coffee with you and start your work. 10 minutes later, you spill some coffee over the computer and the screen turns black, you try to start it up, you try again a several times but it doesn't work, the laptop is dead. 5 minutes later, your boss comes in and asks you how it's going. You are now completely clueless in how to give a good explanation. You have to be careful here because your boss is able to fire you whenever he wants, since you’re new. Maybe you can't just be honest, but you also need to take another method in use if honesty won’t work. My advice is to start with the Honest-Way and see if it's ok for your target. If not, then you can do the Nervous-break-down-act but don't ever do the Attacking-opponent-strategy because your target will find it very ignorant and try to get you fired from your job ASAP. The Successful-people-BS-argument could work, but I don't really want to recommend it since it would look stupid. If I would be in such situation then I would start with the Nervous-break-down-act and the Honest-way on the same time, because it will look like I cared about it from the first time. |
