Bosses and teachers always adore successful people, especially scientists and “good” political characters. But many scientists and the famous politicians are also known for making mistakes and having some obvious defects.
When you connect a successful individual with a mistake or a defect then the "wrongdoing" will look pretty good. It can actually be turned into a positive artwork, despite that it's still as destructive and incorrect as before. Let me demonstrate this in easy Greek logic. "A successful person" + "something that you do that irritates your target" = "positive outcome" Let's say that your target have a problem with your weed-smoking. Then you can argue that Bush, Al Gore (or name whoever you want because lying doesn't do any hurt in this mission as long as your target knows very much about that person and is sure that it's wrong, but just keep argue against it until your target shows any proof or you will blew it) did it. Bush and Al Gore actually smoked some grass when they were young, so that argument would work very well as long as your boss is a fan of either Bush or Al Gore. What you think doesn't matter, just act. You can perform this excuse in many different ways. Let's show an example of how to not do. "Sorry for being late, but Kennedy, our dear president that made humans walk on the moon was also late, many times" or "I'm sorry if I destroyed your espresso machine completely, but Steve Ballmer, CEO at the biggest company in the whole world always put his aggression on the coffee fillers" Those kinds of excuses are very irritating to hear. Why? Because they are all cheap and won't satisfy your target enough, he/she will probably see your dirty trick through your eyes. Try to think: "How to speak so your target will be inspired". Let's try again. "I know it was wrong to destroy the espresso machine and I'm sorry for that, I share Bruce Willies problem, he actually destroyed two in an action scene in.. (keep on the talk as long as you can)" This would probably inspire your target and make him/her to get more positive and forget that issue. |
