Trolling is a way of fishing, it's when you try to lurk up fishes to your bait. But the word "troll" is most usuall mentioned in forums and chats. Troll usually means someone that sabotage the chat or forum.
But, this word is unfortunally misused. Most times someone blames another for trolling, it's just a natural reaction to the fact that the "Troll":s opinion doesn't match with either his/hers opinion or the "Troll" is unique, intelligent, independent thinking that sticks out from the rest of the group. It is however accurately used when someone deliberately posts unrelative information or when someone tries to waste other peoples time by posting info that is hard to understand (aka BS). But it is very hard to prove that someone is actually trolling because they can't read the "trolls" thoughts to see if he/she was doing it aware or unaware. When you're unaware of the situation If someone call you a troll, it's very often because the trollcaller actually is a troll himself/herself. If others agree, then it could also be because you have a total different view of things than the community have. Try to keep a lower profile and try to post more relevant. And when I say relevant, I mean relevant to the usergroup that read your posts so others will be "feeded" with the info that they like and appreciate. When you're aware of the situation You are probably used to earn the reputation "troll", but would like to get back to normal as a free and honored person. The solution is simply to start to post funny posts and lick some asses. You can also try with posting useful articles so that your forum mates will think; Well, mayby he wasn't that useless afterall. If they still have a reputation as a troll a few months later, then please tell us about it. |

As usuall very good advises, thank you!
People think that you are a troll when you post something that conflicts with their perspective. Doesn't matter if it's a good article or just some trash. But why be afraid for people that call you troll? They can't hurt you or anything. They might ban you, but atleast you know that you are right and thats more important than your net-status. |
