As you can see above, I made a spelling error in the title. I wrote the word "misstakes" instead of "mistakes". If I was to write a promotion article for my company or if it was a school essay then it would be more serious. There is a place for spelling errors in this article as well as there is place for this kinds of mistakes in forums, chatrooms, guestbooks, unimportant mails and other such things on the net. I am however proud of making spelling mistakes then and then to show off that I'm not some boring, sensitive person which is a very good because then I'm having a good time, even when someone points at my spelling instead of being embarrassed.
There's a minority of the total amount of the internet users that really cares about spellings. Such people have high grades and expect other people to spell as well as themselves. But you don't have to care about that as long as the situation doesn't decide your destiny. If you write some important stuff, you can always use the spellchecker in Word or OpenOffice. There's also a good spellchecker for Internet Explorer that comes as a feature when you install the Google toolbar. If it's deadly important then you may have to print out the text and let the closest person around you take a look at it. He/she will most likely not say no if they don't have something else to do. After the mistake If some person notices you on a spelling error that you´ve already done then you can respond and tell her/him that everything was planned. A good excuse can be like: "I always make spelling mistakes in my job applications to show that I'm a human and not a robot". This may sound stupid but if you express it in the right tone then it will most likely be accepted. Let’s say that it was a very important letter for your company or some important number in the economical calculation that is going to hurt the whole company and your boss knows that it's you and not someone else. Then you should probably do a Nervous-break-down-act. If that doesn't work well for you, don’t worry. It’s not a big problem anyway, because if you get fired, you deserve a softer boss. |
